Eliza's Awakening is a short novella that is currently only available in ebook format. It is also an erotic novel that has more explicit sexual scenes. Surprisingly, the blurb of this book really gives a good picture of what this book is about. I don't think there is much I can add to it, so I will just get right to what I liked about the book.
There are only a few ways you can write a novella this short and make the love story believable. Ms. Bishop chose to have her two main characters already be interested in each other. They are both at the point in their lives that they are starting to think about marriage and kids and both have been leaning in each other's direction. Had Lord Kempsly's party never happened they would have eventually ended up together, which helped me in the believability portion.
I didn't walk away from this book feeling like I really understood the characters, but more I was left with the impression of two young adults that weren't fully mature yet. It was a very interesting contrast, they're adult enough to be participating in sexual practices, but they are still very young maturity wise. For a short book that scenario works, I would not have enjoyed these characters in a full length novel.
Very quick read, believable love story, and an interesting sexual scenario. If you are looking for something just a little different than your normal read, this would be a good selection.
